Our kick-off for 2026, Convergent Lines is about similarities and the quiet forces that connect us. It’s about how, in the end, we are more alike than we are different. This exhibition celebrates the way paths that begin in entirely different worlds—one rooted in algorithms, the other in the hand’s direct gesture—can meet in a shared visual language.
Here, intricate lines born from code and plotter sit alongside equally intricate marks drawn slowly and deliberately by hand. Their origins could not diverge more, yet the resulting works resonate with a revealing unity. They mirror one another in rhythm, density, and texture, revealing how intention and expression can converge despite contrasting tools, techniques, and philosophies.
This is the mystery of the line: its ability to transcend the method that created it, to carry meaning beyond process, and to connect ideas, minds, and makers. In Convergent Lines, the works of Jussi Jokinen and Eric Hagan remind us that different journeys can lead to shared ground—and that the beauty of art often lies in the spaces where differences dissolve into harmony.

Galleria Tilitoimisto's opening exhibition was a show of three-dimensional, sculptural objects and furniture by Veli-Ville Sivén, inspired by the modernist movement of 21st century and De Stjil -group in particular. From the replica of the famous Berlin chair by Gerrit Rietveld to originals created by Sivén brought his impeccable sense of style and his background as a scenographer to the fore.
Veli-Ville Sivén: I have long been fascinated by geometric shapes and primary colors. To me, abstract forms contain a mystery and an ineffable resonance. Sometimes it feels like the shapes are communicating with me. In the exhibition, abstract compositions, especially those formed by vertical and horizontal lines, engage with the viewer, and the viewer with them. The exhibition consists of works that are three-dimensional and sculptural, as well as two chairs designed by Gerrit Rietveld, whose construction sparked the entire series of artworks. I combine various techniques: woodworking, the behavior of light on surfaces, combinations of strong colors, synthetic sound, and 3D virtual reality animation.
